A clever spider tricks Elephant into thinking the melon in which he is hiding can talk.

MyPlate Bean Bag Toss Activity Supplies:
  • Make 2 or 3 beanbags made from old socks, beans or rice. Take an old sock fill it with dried beans or rice; leave enough room to tie a knot in the sock. Make 2 or 3 of these.
  • Bean Bag Toss Game SheetMake a MyPlate Beanbag Toss sheet: Use a white plastic banquette size table cloth (or an old white sheet, or a white shower curtain liner) permanent markers, and a sturdy paper plate to create a MyPlate Beanbag Toss sheet.
    • Use permanent markers in these colors:
      Blue for dairy
      Red for fruits
      Green for vegetables
      Purple for protein foods
      Orange for grains.
  • Using a sturdy paper plate draw around it using a colored marker making circles. Put circles, 3 in a row like the example below or disperse circles randomly throughout the table cloth. Your decision.
  • MyPlate stickers

Doing the Activity:
  1. Have children take turns throwing the beanbag. When they land on a color they are to do 1 jumping jack and tell you their favorite (vegetable if they land on green, their favorite dairy food if they land and so forth).
  2. You decide when game is over; pass out MyPlate stickers to children.
