A Matter of Balance

An award-winning program designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase the activity levels of older adults who have concerns about falls. This program utilizes volunteer coaches to teach the eight two-hour sessions.


Powerful Tools for Caregivers
A six-week series to help caregivers develop self-care tools to reduce stress, recognize emotions, enhance communication skills with family members, health care professionals and the care receiver, and make tough caregiving decisions. Search the MU Extension calendar for classes in your area.


Stay Strong, Stay Healthy

An 8-week strength-training program for older adults. Participants will increase their physical activity and may improve strength, balance and flexibility, resulting in reduced risk for falls, better overall health and greater independence.


Advanced Stay Strong, Stay Healthy

A follow-up program that builds on the fitness base acquired from Stay Strong, Stay Healthy by adding new and more complex exercises. Advanced SSSH is designed to challenge older adults in new and different ways, to help avoid staleness and plateaus, and to improve activities of daily living.


Successful Aging
Provides educational resources to support successful aging and to strengthen the aging family. Search the MU Extension calendar for classes in your area.
