Balancing Work and Family

Employment can be very fulfilling but may also be very  stressful when combined with rearing children. Parents who work outside the home face the challenge of being available and effective parents while still being successful at their jobs. This workshop helps parents:

  • Identify sources of frustration and satisfaction in their work and family roles.
  • Determine how frustration and satisfaction affect their responses to their children’s needs.
  • Examine the impact of stress on parenting and identify useful coping strategies.
  • Explore effective ways for improving quality family time and enhancing family cooperation.

This workshop was developed by Nina Chen, Human Development Regional Specialist.

This page briefly describes one of many programs offered through University of Missouri Extension. Workshops are scheduled periodically based on the needs and interests expressed by local citizens. Not all of these workshops are available in every county, and specialists may present additional workshops that cover topics not included on this list. Contact your nearest Extension Regional Specialist for more information about the programs that are available in your area
