Becoming Parents Program

The Becoming Parents Program© (BPP) is a six-week class that promotes father involvement and attachment to infants at birth and beyond. The class is designed to help expectant couples and new fathers nurture their own relationship as they prepare for the birth of their child.

In contrast to many couples who experience a great deal of stress with the arrival of their new infant, BPP couples report increased closeness and greater ability to deal with the challenges of having a newborn in the house.

If you are a couple expecting a child (through birth or adoption) or if you know a couple who is expecting and would like to register for classes, contact Melissa Gibson at 823-3469 or mgibson@forest.edu.

You may also visit www.ozarksmarriagematters.org for dates, times, locations, and other information about the classes.

This page briefly describes one of many programs offered through University of Missouri Extension. Workshops are scheduled periodically based on the needs and interests expressed by local citizens. Not all of these workshops are available in every county, and specialists may present additional workshops that cover topics not included on this list. Contact your nearest Extension Regional Specialist for more information about the programs that are available in your area
