Is the life expectancy of men at age 65 about the same as that of women?

No. Remaining life expectancy at age 65 is about 4½ years less for men than women. Women have an average remaining life expectancy of 19.4 years compared to 15.0 years for men. Overall life expectancy at birth is about 7 years greater for women (80.4) than men (73.5).
