How does a counterclaim in Small Claims Court work?
The defendant may file a counter suite against you. If it
comes from the same dispute that you filed, the defendant
may file the claim anytime up to and including the time of
the hearing. If the claims did not come from the original
claim, it must be filed within ten days after the defendant
received the summons regarding your complaint.
