My one-year-old doesn’t crawl yet. Should I be worried?

Each child develops differently and reaches developmental milestones at different times. Typically at this age, children are creeping and crawling. If you have not posed this question to your pediatrician, it is definitely time to do so. If you are unsatisfied with the response you receive, seek a second opinion. Do remember that procedures and protocol vary among insurance companies when it comes to securing a second opinion. However, be vigilant. If your “parent instinct” has you concerned that there may be a problem, ask for a referral for a second opinion, possibly to a physician that specializes in developmental medicine.
