Finance Quick Answers

What is a liquid asset?

A liquid asset is one that can quickly be turned into cash without significant loss. Checking accounts, savings accounts, and money market accounts are all liquid. Things such as your house, coin collections, and artwork are not very liquid.

Dr. Joyce Cavanagh, Former Assistant Professor and State Specialist, Consumer and Family Economics
