Yes, however, if beans were not canned using current (1989 or later) University Extension Publications, they must be boiled first, 10 minutes below 1,000 feet or 11 minutes above 1,000 feet of altitude. This necessary precaution of boiling for 10 minutes may make the product too soft for a desirable texture for salads. However, it is necessary to ensure safety.
