Can peanut butter be canned?


Because its low moisture content prevents bacterial growth, it is safe to process peanut butter in a boiling water bath for 60 minutes, pints and half-pints only. This is not very practical, however, and it would just be easier to store the peanuts and grind them into peanut butter as needed.
