Is it possible to process two layers of jars in the canner at one time?

It is possible to reliably process two layers of jars in a canner at one time. The canner must be tall enough to allow the two layers to stand upright without touching the lid of the canner. Place a small wire rack between the layers so steam or water will circulate around each jar. Process according to recommended timetables.
