When should I replace the gasket on my freezer door?
Freezers need to be checked for leaking door gaskets. A
freezer that continually loses cold air cannot be
operating efficiently. If the gasket is brittle or
cracked it should be replaced. Take a dollar bill and
close the freezer door on it. If it fits snuggly, the
seal is good. But if you can pull out the bill with
little or no resistance, a new gasket is needed.
