Does a full freezer operate more efficiently?
Operating costs per pound of food is less if the freezer is kept at least three-fourths full. Each time the freezer door is opened, cold air escapes and warm air enters. If a freezer is half empty, a lot of warm air can rush into it whenever the door is opened.
