Is it alright to freeze a canned ham?

Check your label. Most canned hams require refrigeration and can be kept in the refrigerator for 6 to 9 months. Note: cured meats, like ham, tend to become rancid rather quickly in the freezer because of their high salt content. If hams are stored in the freezer, they should be used within one month. So, it isn't practical to store canned hams in the freezer since their refrigerator shelf life is much longer.
