I had spinach turn dark that was stored at the locker plant. The spinach frozen in my home freezer was fine. What caused the difference?
Locker plant storage is usually a number of degrees below 0 degrees F. It will cause a more drastic drying out of food or freezer burn if food is not properly packaged. Food must be packaged in moisture-vapor-proof containers and all possible air removed from the container.
