Is it alright to process sweet spreads in simmering (180 degrees F.) water?
USDA now recommends that sweet spreads be processed in a boiling-water canner (212 degrees F.) for five minutes if you live at altitudes between 0 and 1000 feet. Above 1000 feet, process for 10 minutes.
