What is the difference between conserves and marmalades?

Conserves are jams made from a mixture of fruits, usually citrus fruits. Often raisins and nuts are added. Marmalade is a tender jelly with small pieces of fruit distributed evenly throughout. Marmalade often contains citrus fruit.
