Should I throw away a food after the date expires even if it appears safe to eat?
Product dates do not always refer to home storage and
use after purchase. If the date expires during home
storage, the product should be safe to eat if handled
properly for a short period of time after expiration. Do
not purchase foods that have passed their expiration
date at the grocery store.
