How do you safely prepare hot dogs?
Hot dogs are precooked, but should still be cooked until
hot throughout because studies have shown a high level
of the bacteria listeria on hot dogs. The same general
food safety rules apply to hot dogs. Keep hot dogs in
the freezer for no longer than 1 or 2 months. They can
be stored in the refrigerator unopened for 2 weeks. Once
the package is opened, store for only 1 week.
