How do ratites compare nutritionally to other meats?
According to the USDA: For a 3.5-ounce (100-gram)
serving:
- raw emu contains approximately 95 calories, 20 grams protein, 1.5 grams fat and 50 milligrams cholesterol;
- raw ostrich contains approximately 100 calories, 25 grams protein, 2 grams fat and 60 milligrams cholesterol;
- raw rhea contains approximately 105 calories, 23 grams protein, 1.2 grams fat and 57 milligrams cholesterol.
