How should bread be stored?
Store bread at room temperature in a cool, dry place.
Refrigeration speeds up staling; however, in hot, humid
weather, bread kept more than 2-3 days should be
refrigerated to retard mold growth. Refer to MP556,
Storing Food in the Freezer, for information on how
to freeze bread. High-moisture breads, like English
muffins and brown-and-serve rolls, should be stored in
the refrigerator. Keep hard-crust breads, like French
bread, at room temperature and use within 1 to 2 days of
purchase.
