Quick Answers...
Replacing an outlet or switch looks simple. Should I attempt to do it myself?
Although there are many publications and web pages about
do-it-yourself projects, electrical work is generally
best left to a qualified, licensed electrician. If you
do attempt electrical work yourself consider that you
will be learning as you go, and mistakes cannot only be
expensive but could also cause physical harm.
Additionally, you might have to purchase expensive tools
for the project that would be used infrequently for
other types of work.
If you are still considering doing electrical repair yourself, contact a Missouri state extension specialist in environmental design for more information.
