What is Body Scanning?

The Body Scanner uses a white light-based scanner and software to capture hundred of thousands of data points on an individual's image and automatically extract dozens of measurements.

The individual wears close-fitting garments, such as a sports bra and knit shorts. A private changing area is provided and the scan is done in a private booth.

Once the scan is completed, the measurements can be compared to garment specifications to determine the individual's correct size in a given line of clothing. The same measurements can also be used for mass customization, where a company custom sews a garment from a given collection of garments and fabrics, to fit an individual's measurements. The measurements can also be used to develop a pattern or set of patterns that fit the individual and can be used for sewing.
