Quick Answers

I want to look and feel better, but diets have never worked for me. What are the keys to success?

Obviously, what you eat will play a role in how you look and feel, but how active you are also plays an equally important role.

So what should you do? Don't diet but instead change the way you eat. Set realistic goals. Don't try to lose all of the weight right away. Set short- and long-term goals and re-evaluate them periodically. Each is important. Eat moderately and increase your activity level. Consistency and routine are the keys. Get into a routine of being active each day and it will become easier and easier to do. Make activity a priority but make it simple enough to become a part of your normal routine. Inconsistent and extreme behavior rarely works. Finally, find people to support you in the activities that you do.
