Quick Answers
My popcorn isn't popping as well as it should. What can I do?
It depends on whether the un-popped kernels are too dry
or too wet. If kernels are too dry, there will be many
un-popped kernels or kernels that have only split open.
Put kernels in a jar and add one tablespoon water per
quart of kernels. Tighten lid and shake at 5-10 minute
intervals until all the water is absorbed. Wait 2-4 days
before popping. If the kernels are too wet, the popped
kernels will have a rough surface with some kernels that
puff up like puffed wheat. Air dry popcorn kernels and
check for correct moisture content by popping.
