Low carb diets are one example of a low calorie diet. All popular diets ask you to restrict one or more foods or food groups. And it’s usually a food group that your body needs for good health or to prevent diseases like cancer or heart disease. The beginning of a diet like the Atkins diet is mostly water loss or it could be muscle loss. And you don’t want to lose muscle!
