Quick Answers...

I have a 14 year old daughter and would like some information on dating. All I can seem to find is information on teen dating violence. Do you have information on boundaries and appropriate curfews?

I’m glad to see that you are seeking information about dating for your adolescent. There are really no steadfast rules about curfews and age limits as each child and family tends to be different and have different needs. What research shows is that teens do best in the dating realm when they have parents who are active and communicate regularly with them about dating. Most experts in this field suggest that non-mature dating, such as co-ed group outings, are best for younger teens whereas more serious one-on-one dates are best for teens age 16 and above.

The University of Florida Extension has published an article that gives dating tips for parents.
