Are children who witness domestic violence in their homes more likely than to grow up to be abusers compared to children from non-violent homes?

For males, there is a strong link between witnessing domestic violence as a child and becoming an abuser as an adult. One study reported that 45% of male abusers had seen their mothers abused by their fathers when they were growing up.
